Hot off her heels of performing her original song "Clean Slate" for country super star Keith Urban and nearly 20,000 fans at Rogers Place Arena, 16 year old Hailey Benedict continues to make her mark as a young rising talent in the Canadian Country music industry.
Recognized at age twelve as the youngest winner to date of the Association of Country Music Alberta (ACMA) Fan’s Choice Award, Hailey is also a four-time Canadian Songwriting semi-finalist, Top 8 All-Albertan Songwriting Finalist (age 11), 2016 Global Country Canada youth winner; as well as a five-time 2017 North America Country Music Association International Youth Award winner, including Female Vocalist, Most Promising Female Entertainer and two-time Youth Songwriter of the Year (New Country & Patriotic).
At just 16, Hailey has already been invited to perform for numerous large-scale events including the Alberta Country Music Awards, Big Valley Jamboree, Seven Music Fest, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Edmonton Eskimos and the John Cameron Changing Lives production of Crescendo and Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree. She has also opened for several internationally recognized, award-winning country music artists such as Lindsay Ell, Gord Bamford, Alee, Doc Walker, Autumn Hill and Codie Prevost.
Last summer, Hailey captured the grand prize title at both the 2017 K-Days Youth Talent Search and Big Valley Jamboree’s ATB Homegrown Talent Stage competition where she performed main stage and opened for country music headliners Chris Young and Jason Aldean. She was also invited to perform in the 2017 'Diamonds in the Rough' and 'Somewhere in Alberta' Emerging Artist Showcases during Canadian Country Music Association Week. Most recently, Hailey was invited as one of the youngest performers to ever take stage at the 2018 Alberta Country Music Awards where she was also a two-time, Top 5 ACMA nominee for both the Horizon Youth and Fan’s Choice Awards.
As a result of her personal achievements and philanthropic efforts in the community, Hailey was honored this past year when she was recognized (alongside former Canadian Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Kim Campbell and 11 other inspirational women), as one of the youngest ever Global Woman of Vision award recipients.
